Art Gallery Reception featuring artwork from Ella Tsals

Thursday, May 28 | 5:30 – 7:30 pm

Born in Riga, Latvia, Ella Tsals developed her love for art through frequent museum visits that inspired her creative journey. In 1980, she immigrated to the United States with her husband Izzy and their daughter Diana, beginning a new chapter while continuing to nurture her passion for painting. Though she built a successful career in engineering, earning a master’s degree from the Riga Polytechnical Institute, art remained a constant source of expression throughout her life. While raising her daughters Diana and Sonia, painting served as a meaningful creative outlet.

Today, Ella’s work is inspired by nature, exploring botanical forms, movement, and vibrant color alongside abstract geometric compositions rich in texture and intuition. Her paintings reflect a sense of rhythm that is fluid, expressive, and alive.

Ella and Izzy live in Margate, New Jersey, with their family spanning Newtown, Pennsylvania and Park City, Utah.

Join us for a special gallery reception celebrating her work. Her artwork will be on display May, 18 through July, 6 in the Katz JCC Art Gallery.
